Full Lighthouse Moon Rider
I have been involved in local public art, painting, photography and zine publishing for the last 6 years or so. While primarily working with illustration, photography and painting, I have increasingly dabbled in sculpture so some its influence is crossing over into my paintings. The 2d surface has steadily started to gain a third dimension. The process behind the work is serious while the end result is not, very often giving way to absurdity and humour. I am a visual amusement engineer. - Ned Bajic

Pandamite
Screenprint
As the English-born offspring of two Australian cartoonists, I have spent most of my life wondering a) where I belong and b) why everyone seems to take life so seriously. During a prolonged return visit to England (which had helped me decide that neither of these questions really needed answering), two rabbits hopped into my head and refused to move out. They hitched a ride with me back to Australia in 2001 and have been playing havoc with my head ever since. They occasionally grudgingly make room for dogs, cats, flying pigs and pandas. I am constantly encouraging the whole menagerie to make their homes elsewhere in the form of cards, handmade prints and digital prints, but I seem to be stuck with them for life. When they occasionally leave me alone you can find me at my studio at the Hahndorf Academy, mucking around with pencils, paper, acids and printing inks. - Julia Wakefield

Colourful Woman
Oil on canvas
Barbara Ziolek is a young at heart painter, who adores the land and the human form. Her Expressionistic style incorporates impasto techniques and explores the vibrancy and strength of colour.

Oil on canvas
I have illustrated four books published by Scholastic including A little bit
by Peter and Christine Maniaty, The Eleventh Sheep by Kyle Mewburn and
Goldilocks and the Three Koalas by Kel Richards. I illustrate with
watercolour because it is a quick medium it captures the moment and shows
light and movement.
I use oil paint to fill my paintings with rich colours. Animals and a cheeky
collection of characters feature in my work. Story is important element of
my work and I often incorporate text. I held a solo exhibition in the Urban Cow Gallery in 2007 titled How to Eat Ice Cream.

Swallows
Mixed Media
Living and working in an igloo in Parkside, Violet experiments with old, unloved materials and old, unloved techniques to find ways to make old crafts new again.
She studied illustration, she teaches mosaics, she has aspirations to make books and to cover small buildings in strange mosaics.
Violet supplies the Cow (and has done for quite some time now) with clocks, jewellery, mosaics and weird collagey, painty things. She is currently considering adding teapots to that list.

Antlerfrau
Fruzsi enjoys quiet Sundays, making jam, painting, blogging, drinking tea from handmade tumblers, exploring the world and inventing new, fantasmagorical creations to fill happy homes with. She paints pictures of love and longing and is looking forward to a long and happy life of art and making.
